1. Who we are.

This site is operated by Silas (Profe Silas), a sole proprietor trading as profesilas. Lessons are taught remotely from Cofradía, Cortés, Honduras. For legal notices, the operator's address of record is in Minnesota, United States. Contact: students@profesilas.com.

2. Who this service is for.

The curriculum is currently designed for adult learners, and tutoring is available only to adult students — students book for themselves and must be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn a booking or an account is for a minor, we refuse it and wipe the account, the artifacts, and the diagnostic.

3. What we collect and why.

This site stores the student account and the work the student sends. Each item has a primary purpose. The /app portal is not a price menu. The diagnostic is not a class and it is not priced. Book remains the public calendar.

Display name, login email, and password existence are stored to authenticate the student on /app.

The student session cookie is stored so the student stays signed in until Logout.

The tutor session cookie is stored so Silas uses /operator until Logout.

The primary purpose of the placement diagnostic (the student's answers and the work text they paste) is that Profe Silas reads it and places teaching.

The primary purpose of essay drafts, quiz attempts, homework, and flashcard progress is that Profe Silas reads assigned work and teaches.

The roster, assignments, delete-minor action, and password reset are stored to operate the class.

If you email us, we receive that message. If you book through a scheduling tool, that tool collects what you enter into it. We do not track you across other sites.

4. Third parties.

Only the ones you can see: our website host; the scheduling tool, if you use it; PayPal, if you pay; and the account processor, which is this site. Each handles your data under its own terms. We do not sell or share your information.

5. How long we keep it.

We keep inquiry messages while your inquiry is open and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. The account, the artifacts, and the diagnostic are kept while the account exists, so Profe Silas can teach. You may ask us to delete your account, your artifacts, and your diagnostic at any time. Logout ends the session.

6. Your choices.

Write to students@profesilas.com to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to have the account, the artifacts, and the diagnostic deleted. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can. Logout on /app or on /operator ends that session.

If this notice changes, the updated version is posted here.
